Wellbore 3D Viewer (Home)

With this feature... Do this...
Reload Data Click to reload the data from the S&P Global Inc. Information Hub, and the most recent changes made using Profile Viewer or AccuLogs.
Restore Defaults Click to override all settings made in the customization pane that appears in the right-side of the 3D Wellbore Viewer dialog box. Individual customizations in the Rotation and Perspective pane can be undone by clicking to the right of a given slider.
3D Wellbores Click to toggle whether 3D wellbores and associated objects appear.
Tops Click to toggle the display of formation top labels and markers. Drag tops along the wellbore to change their depth.
Annotations Click to toggle whether annotations created using Profile Viewer appear in Wellbore 3D Viewer. Display both Profile Viewer and 3D Wellbore Viewer dialog boxes, modify the annotations using Profile Viewer, and then click in 3D Wellbore Viewer.
UWI Display the UWI at the top and bottom hole locations in the display pane.
Wells without DS Click to include wells without a directional survey in the display pane. Wellbore 3D Viewer renders a simple, imitation directional survey derived using the top hole, landing point, and bottom hole.
2D Wellbores Toggle whether 2D wellbores appear.
Casing Width Wellbore casing thickness. This value is based on the casing diameter.
Land Grid Select whether to display DLSS, FPS, and NTS grids for wells in BC, AB, SK, MB, and NWT. A structural surface must be displayed in the Wellbore 3D Viewer in order for the land grid to appear.
Color Color the wellpath using either the Monochrome or Inclination option.
Casing Shoe Toggle whether to show symbol at bottom of the casing string if inclination is greater than 10 degrees.
Casing Diameter Toggle whether to show casing diameter where the inclination is greater than 45 degrees.
Stimulated Area Toggle whether to show the Frac simulated area limited by Frac Half Length XF.
Fracs Toggle whether to show fracs.
Perfs Toggle whether to show perfs.
Incl Toggle whether to mark the inclination at a particular inclination.
Short UWI Toggle whether Short UWIs are displayed.
Other Drapery Select from the following:
Ellipse of Uncertainty - formed from azimuthal, inclination, and measured depth errors. Can be used in proximity and risk analysis. 2D EoU rendered with Long Axis corresponding to Spatial Uncertainty and Short Axis corresponding to TVD Uncertainty.
MD Labels - posted every 200 meters starting from 50 degrees inclination. MD scale with major (100 m) and minor (20 m) ticks rendered starting from 10 degrees.
Open Holes - render open hole completions along horizontal wellbore.
Slots - render slot completions along horizontal wellbore.
Tops - display tops starting from 75 degrees. If there are no tops to place, the last top with the maximum MD is placed regardless of inclination.
Wells without Directional Surveys - include wells without directional surveys.
2D Copy Click to save a 2D birds' eye view of the wells to your Windows Clipboard in EMF+ format, which can be pasted into Microsoft Office and many other third-party applications.
MS Frac / Perf Range

Controls the visibility of merged system completion perforation records usually corresponding to Multi Stage Frac or Perforation Range.

Structural Surfaces Select from up to four formation tops to render, and whether a 16x16 grid is drawn on the structural surface to indicate contours. Select <Surface> to display the stratigraphic surface.
Contours Click to contour the displayed structural surface based on elevation.
Transparency Drag to change the opacity of the structural surface.
Palette Select a color scheme from the drop-down list. Note that if displaying gamma ray logs, you may wish to select a palette other than Red-Yellow-Green-Blue, which are essentially the same colors as appear in the gamma ray log.
Data Points Enable to display the data points upon which the rendering of a structural surface are based.
Start Subsea Type or select the subsea depth at which the viewport begins. This is the underside of the top surface of the perspective box that appears in the viewport pane. Visual objects such as tops and annotations that appear above the subsea defined do not appear in the detail pane.
Height Type the subsurface depth at the top of your area of interest to include in the viewport. To exaggerate trends in the subsurface contouring, type a smaller value or shallower height, down to a minimum of 25 m. Use this feature in conjunction with the Start Subsea truncation mentioned above to focus your analysis on specific details.
Well Search Radius
(Not available when launched from Cross Section tab)
Specify the distance around the subject well from which to include wells. A larger radius distance displays more wells.
Offset NS-EW Type the amount in metres by which to offset the NS/EW markers from the 3D display.
